Problem: duplicate menus showing in header and both displaying vertically
6 replies · Started by Mark on January 24, 2023
I have done a basic design with GeneratePress Premium using a Localhost. I then imported the settings into a development site on a temporary url. In the locallyhosted site, there was one menu in the header laid out horizontally across the top. This is what I wanted. When I imported the settings into a copy of the site on a temporary url, the header displays duplicate menus and displays them vertically, not horizontally. I have gone through all the settings on both sites, and they are the same, so I don't know what the issue is.
I can provide login details and screenshots if needed.
Thanks
Hi there,
to share screenshots, just save them in cloud drive, or wp media library or somewhere on the net, and then share the URL to the images.
If we can see the site then even better. and you can share a URL / Login in the Private Information field below. Only GP Employees can see that.
Thanks. Will do. Is there an email you could send me privately that I can use for your login.
I have sent the information you requested
Aah ok, so there are no styles being loaded on the front end of the site.
Which looks to be due to a URL mismatch.
Can you go to Settings > General and make sure that the 2 x URLs there match the site.
Then go to Settings > Permalinks and Click Save Changs to regenerate Permalinks.
Thanks. I talked to the webhosts and there was a problem with one of their plugins. Clearing all the caches solved the problem. I should have thought of that first, as a wise man once said.
Glad to hear you got it working!
