Preferred way to import site library on existing site

Hi!
I would like to import the bold site to an existing GP premium site.
What would be your chosen way to do this?
Back up, run the importer and put the site in maintenance mode until everything is sorted? Or install fresh on a staging site, import bold and then all the pages and media?
There is about 30 pages on this site and has a few plug-ins as well.

Hi there,
I would recommend doing this on a staging site – many hosting offers this service for free so I’d advise checking with them first.
If not, you can create a new install, then use a plugin like Duplicator to clone your existing site to the new install, activate GP, make the tweaks there, then duplicate it back to the live site.
