Most post formats other than standard will allow all HTML, so they can display things like video, audio etc..

Allowing full HTML does unfortunately mean that the excerpt won't display.

However, we could likely force the excerpt to display with the following filter if you'd like?: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/generate_show_excerpt/
