Hello Support,
This is a great theme, I purchased it just today.
on my url https://healthsmartnutra.com/ I set as "Health News". Intention is to put content there
I cannot get the Posts show up on this Blog page titled "Health News". The previous theme (ASTRA) was showing it.
I have checked Under Appearance > Menu and "Health News" has post1, post2, post3,......all assigned properly.
However, the post are not displaying.
The blog is enabled in "premium module".
Can you please help me?
Hi there,
I can see the posts being added in the menu item? https://s33.postimg.org/r5pixp41r/2017-12-13_0930.png
Or are you wanting that page to be the blog page?
If so you need to set it in Dashboard > Settings > Reading.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks for your reply Leo,
Yes I have set it as
I have my Dashboard > Settings > Reading as shown at;
https://healthsmartnutra.com/generatepress-blog-page-config/
In my previous ASTRA Premium it used to work
Do not know whats wrong now.
In your screenshot, the "Posts page" option is empty. That's the option you would set to the page where the blog posts should show up.
Let me know if you need more info :)
Thanks Tom...appreciate you help,
You've shown a solution, but now I see a new problem of side bar...
ACTUALLY IT SHOULD BE:
Homepage: “Select”
Posts page: “Health News”
THE PROBLEM IS: It has knocked out my “right-side-widget”
I HAVE VERIFIED THE FOLLOWING:
[1]. In appearance > Widget - Show Right side bar” is there active
[2]. When I go on “Edit Mode” for Posts page: “Health News”
The “Layout Setting” is: Sidebars = content/sidebar (radio button is enabled)
How can I get my right side-bar showing again?
You need to set a page for the front page (homepage).
If you want the front page to display the posts, simply select the "Your latest posts" option: https://www.screencast.com/t/BSWFLSG2b
Did exactly as; ………………front page to display the posts, selected the “Your latest posts” option: like in https://www.screencast.com/t/BSWFLSG2b
This brings the “right-side-bar” as I like it to be.
But now we back to original case of “Post Excerpts Not Displaying” on “Health News”
Could there be anything else I need to check?
If you want your posts to show up here: https://healthsmartnutra.com/health-news/
You need to:
1. Choose "A static page" in "Settings > Reading".
2. Set the "homepage" option to this page: https://healthsmartnutra.com/home/
3. Set the "posts page" option to this page: https://healthsmartnutra.com/health-news/
Thanks Tom
The Blog page is functional now.
But still no right-side bar !
I have current config as;
[1]. In appearance > Widget – Show "Right side bar” is there active
[2]. In “Edit Mode” for Posts page: “Health News”
The “Layout Setting” is: Sidebars = content/sidebar (radio button is enabled)
The right side-bar is not showing, how do I get it showing?
This should help: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/sidebar-layout/
Specifically, it can be set in Customize > Layout > Sidebars.
Let me know :)
Tom thanks a lot....it worked like a charm (I just love GeneratePress, I wasted so much time on the other premium Theme)
I wanted to ask you about the footer widget1 above the "copyright"
I wanted to "center horrizontally" the footer-menu privacy pages. I have
.footer-widgets .widget_nav_menu li {
display: inline-block;
margin: 0 10px;
}
.footer-center {
text-align: center;
}
I found the css while poking around the GeneratePress last night. Somehow it sets everything inline and horizontal.
But it does not center. Can it be centered?
Instead of using the footer widget, try using the Footer Bar widget area.
Then you can set the alignment in Customize > Layout > Footer.
Let me know :)
Excellent, works like a charm.
Thanks for your awesome help and assistance Tom.
You're very welcome :)
