Ella
Hi,
I’m having trouble with my blog posts and images. I’ve just published a new post – setting the cover image, all is fine. It now also shows on the top bar of my website: http://www.forgettingfairytales.com and doesn’t show in the homepage “dating” section, but it does show on the category dating when you click on there.
The biggest issue I have however, is although it shows the correct cover image on the main pages, when you click on it, it shows a completely different image – the cover image of the post published prior to that: https://www.forgettingfairytales.com/second-date-ideas/
I also scrolled down and the “Previous” post promoted also shows the wrong cover image – again, it shows up as the previous published posts cover image (although when you then click on it, it is fine.)
I’ve purged the cache via breeze on settings, but that’s not done anything.
Can you please tell me why this is happening and what I should do?
Thanks,

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
can you temporarily disable any cache / otpimization plugins so i can take a closer look?

I’m not sure which ones I have in place? Is it just breeze?

StaffCustomer SupportI also see wpo-minify in the source code.
If you aren’t sure, just turn off all plugins except GP Premium and WP Show Posts for now 🙂

Is this the only way to check it? I’m just a bit nervous about deactivating plugins (especially over the weekend when I can’t ask my developer to help if needed) as I won’t know whether the settings will automatically go back to what they were after. I can send my site login details if it’s easier to explore on the backend? Let me know. Thanks!

StaffCustomer SupportThe WP Optimize plugin looks to be the most likely culprit as its combining all the necessary CSS files into on big file, but its not considering that CSS Background Images are dynamic.
Plugins store there settings in your database, so disabling then re-enabling a plugin will automatically return the settings it was using before.
But if its a worry then try just disabling the Process CSS Files option in WP optimize – see here:
https://getwpo.com/faqs/how-do-i-exclude-all-css-files-from-being-minified-and-merged/
Then clear the breeze and browser caches to see if that displays the correct image. If it doesn’t then leave the Process CSS file disabled and let us know.

Amazing, thank you. I’ve disabled the WP Optimise plugin and it fixed the image issue. I also purged the cache via Breeze.
I still have the issue where the latest posts don’t update on the homepage under the right section however. So for example, the latest post shows here: https://www.forgettingfairytales.com/category/dating/ but not here under the “Dating” title: https://www.forgettingfairytales.com/
The strange thing though, when I had a relationship post, that updated on homepage as well as the section page straight away. I checked the WP Show Posts set up and I didn’t see anything wrong in there. What do you think? 🙂

StaffCustomer SupportCan you share screenshots of the WPSP list settings for the Dating list ?
July 11, 2021 at 5:16 am #1851602Ella
I don’t know how to share screenshots as a link, sorry to be a pain. I’m on a Mac and have tried to follow instructions for this a couple of times but it doesn’t ever seem to work!

StaffCustomer SupportHi Ella,
I can see that the article is shown on the Dating category archive page.
https://www.screencast.com/t/gThH8pM0IRIhIf it’s not what you see, can you try to clear the browser cache as well?
And you can use this method to upload screenshots:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#uploading-screenshotsLet me know if you need further assistance 🙂

Thanks for the link. It shows in the Dating Category, but doesn’t update on the homepage dating section: https://postimg.cc/G92w8GL3
All cache has been cleared, including on the browser so I don’t think it’s down to that.
These are my settings for how that section has been set up on WP Show Posts incase there’s anything wrong there:
https://postimg.cc/VdgCGyyW
https://postimg.cc/pprF6G2NLet me know if you need to see any of the other tabs for settings if you think it’s something to do with that.
Thanks!

StaffCustomer SupportIn the More Settings tab – the Offset field has a value ( of
4) – remove that as Offset will skip over the latest X number of posts.July 12, 2021 at 9:51 am #1853149Ella
Amazing, this has fixed it, thanks so much!
