Christiano
Hi there! I am staging my second site and I have an issue with the home page.
If I choose a preferred image, to be shown in the SERP by google, the picture appears in the top bar also.
What is the problem?
Thanks in advance. 🤗

Hi David, it’s a pleasure to hear from you. ☺️
I inserted the staging url in the private information section.
THANKS! 🤗

StaffCustomer SupportOK, so do you want the Featured Image displayed on the front end ? Or are you only using it for Google SERPs and Archives ?

Only to appear on Google search… I’m not interested to show it in the website.
THANKS! 🤗

StaffCustomer SupportAre you using an SEO plugin?
If so it usually has an option that allows you to upload a screenshot for preview.

Hi Leo, yes, I’m using Yoast Seo.
I do not understand why after choosing the featured image, it appears on the top bar… 🤷🏼♂️
THANKS! 🤗

StaffCustomer SupportIf you want to NOT display any Featured images on any Page or Post.
1. In Appearance > GeneratePress, activate the Blog module.
2. Customizer > Layout > Blog —> Featured Images. There are 3 tabs Archives, Posts and Pages.
Select each tab and uncheck Display Featured Image where it is applicableIf you want to Selectively remove feature images on a page or post then you an use the Disable Elements meta box:

Hi David, thanks for your reply.
What is it going to do Google if a page does not have a featured image?
THANKS! 🤗

StaffCustomer SupportThe theme can only control whether it is displayed on the front end of the website.
The changes i explained above will do that, but the featured image will still be stored in the post meta. For google to see that image, it will need to be told it exists.
As Leo said, most SEO plugins will do that as part of the Rich Snippet they generate.December 16, 2022 at 3:30 am #2463876Christiano
OK, I’ve disabled the featured image on pages… In fact I think displaying images is only needed within posts and elsewhere…
THANK YOU! 🤗
