[Resolved] Post excerpt missing from archive page

I have numerous posts loading in my archive page and all but one of the excerpts is displayed correctly. I’ve been trying to troubleshoot why and beating my head on this for a fair amount of time. I’ve rebuilt the offending post several times and arrived at the same confusing result = excerpt is missing. I began posting to support here 2 or 3 times only to stop and delete my support topic and move on…but I feel like I should mention my troubles.

The site is a dev site, its fully updated with Generatepress theme, Generatepress premium, Generateblocks pro. The only other plugins are ACF pro and Yoast (updated). The same result occurs with or without my child theme active.

The page has a container block with a few paragraph blocks, header block and an image block align right (which causes the 2 paragraphs to run around the image). Sometimes if I delete the image the excerpt appears correctly, and other times it doesnt matter. There are ways which I’ve built the page where the excerpt has worked correctly but the page code looks the same in all instances. It seems if I have to move blocks around in order to get them inside the parent container, then something breaks and excerpt disappears. To be clear, these are brand new fresh posts, so there is no manual excerpt spaces or stray characters or unintended hidden code anywhere. I can’t help but think it has something to do with the container block for some reason. If I have to move blocks around to any degree or I add an image to the top of the page…the excerpt disappears.

Using the custom excerpt is the best workaround for now.

I’m just pleased that I haven’t lost my mind in thinking this was a bug of some sort. I searched pretty extensively for comparable problems but somehow missed to WPcore bug. Thanks for the quick reply.
