How to create a post grid, similar to featured posts or categories but to be able to select each post individually (manually)? (i.e. a dropdown that lists individual post to select?)

Is it possible to use the Genearte Press Panterns and then sub out each container, or do I need to build something by scratch element by element? Any vidoes that would explain-- what would I search for?

Have tried creating a taxonomy like tag or category (home page) but then how do I order them other than by Chronology and it gets messy

Thanks

Thanks, I tried that out, and I can't figure out how to configure what the grid returns,if I select "current post" it gives me posts in chronological order, if I use the dynamic data and select "post type" and then a single post it just changes all the images to the same featured image of the post I selected but doesn't change the title or excerpt,

How do I control the posts the look returns? I tried clicking on the template and on the container and didn't get anywhere.

I sort of figured this out, selecting query loop then block and then unselect "inherit query from template" but then when I get to "include posts" it gets very buggy with the list jittering up and down and when I move the cursor up and down and impossible to select from post list as it keeps moving? I there must be a bug some where.

But at least I starting to under stand it. And select coulum numbers by post template -block- item with

Hi there,

where can i see the issue ?

I'm experimenting with the generateblock, pro, patterns and query loop, and created several containers with different query loops and grids, trying to figure things out. I selected the "query loop" then the "block" tab on the right side of the editing screen, and was having trouble scroling down any farther with the verticle scroll bar, and then clicked into the "include posts" box with several posts listed, and then when I go to the drop down list of possible posts to select below the INclude post box and the add parameters button, and then the list starts shaking up and down making it impossible to select one, sort of like when you try to scoll a list to fast.
Maybe I just overwhelmed the system-- I listed 14 posts per page.

It still does it, but haven't tried it on a new post which I can do when I have time.

Related to that, I want to start working on building the home page, what part do I do on the Elements layout -block tab and then directing it to the home page versus working directly on the home page?

I'm excited that I have figured this out and looking forward to working with your program.

Which browser are you using ? And does the issue occur if you try a different browser ?

Regarding the home page, is your home page a static page or is it set to show the latest posts?

I use Firefox, and just tried on Chrome and it did the same thing. I tried creating a fresh post, and had the same problem started with one of the magazine patterns, then selected the query loop and then selected include posts and as soon as I started adding posts the list started flutering, it would stop and let me select one eventually. An this was pretty much after a fresh boot of my mac, with the latest update of Ventura.

I'm working on setting up a homepage, with latest posts, but defining the posts I want on it. And may eventually have one or two that would be a latest post (change with as add new posts).

Now since I'm probably only going to use this particular grid on the home page, what advantage would I have to creating a block element just for homepage versus creating it directly on the home page with Generate Blocks? And either way I assume I would have to exclude the home page from other elements I created.

Would it be possible to get a temporary admin login so we can see whats going on with that "select" issue ?

With a static homepage that will have its own unique design, there is no benefit of using a Element.
I would build it directly on the page.
And yes, if there is no element requirements, then you should exclude them.

NOTE: the page that is set to homepage in Settings > Reading is given a special place in WordPress, even if its a static page it is no longer seen as one by WP. So in Elements Display Rules the Front Page location can be used to target it / exclude it.

Here's the guest admin credentials. Thanks

Is this the issue:

And i assume its happening when there is limited screen space below the select box, eg. on a smaller screen.

Let me know. Either way ill get this issue raised for improvements
