How would I be able to determine what image size -- thumbnail size --my website is using in post archive?

the largest size is 768px - this is when viewed on a portrait tablet.
David, what is your approach to Media Settings? Thank you!
i generally leave them untouched unless its a really bespoke build or i there is limited storage on the host server ( so removal of unused image sizes ).
The 768px image size you require is actually auto generated by WP - as the Medium-Large size - its just not displayed in the Media Settings.

Thank you for your input. I only ask because my site is one that is very, very image heavy! So I want to maximize my server space as much as possible.
I understand that the 768px is the medium-large format and is for responsiveness and various devices.
