When I initially imported the settings and content for Wordsmith, I removed the social media icons from the footer as I was going to keep them at the top. However, I’ve changed my mind and want to hide the icons on the Top Bar and want to display them near or in the footer. However, when I try to add the icons widget to Footer Widget 1, I can’t get the Social Media icons to display. I even double checked on a fresh install to see which footer widget area the icons were imported too in order to make sure it was the right spot. Out of curiosity, I removed the Social Media Icons widget from Footer Widget One in the new install and readded it and noticed it was doing the same thing. This might be a possible bug or perhaps something else is afoot.

    Hi there,

So nothing displays at all when you add a widget to the Footer Widget 1 area? What about a regular text widget?

    Let me know πŸ™‚

I can add an image widget and get an image to be displayed in the footer but I can’t get any of the social media icons to display.

Just to confirm, when you add the icon in the widget, you also added the link?

Yep, sure did. I also double checked to make sure the icons were not the same color as the background.

    That’s super strange.

Can you send me the dashboard access to take a quick look?

Looks like the missing URL I mentioned above was the issue:
