Position of Search box

Can the search box be added to, say, the right of the menu so that it doesn't have to take up space in a sidebar? Would it then also appear at the bootom of the menu for mobile?
Doing this is a little too much code for in here, but I'm working on a free plugin that will allow you to easily do this :) I'll keep this topic unresolved until I'm finished.
I decided to include this as a default feature in the theme.
It will be turned off by default, but you can turn it on once 1.1.4 is released :)
