Is it possible to configure the GeneratePress theme to open a post as a pop-up when clicking on a link rather than opening it on a new page?

It's possible. You'll need a plugin or a custom code. We don’t have a specific recommendation for a plugin though. It might be good to ask for recommendations on our Facebook group regarding this: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1113359788719597
