Podcast Theme Setup

Hi team,

This isn't exactly a support question, but rather a question on how to replicate a specific podcast theme/layout.

Basically, the site has Episodes and guests associated with each. The full guest list is here and contains data for each (name, title, # of episodes): https://www.thefitmess.com/guests

Then once clicked into, you get more details about them (bio, social media URLs, episodes, etc): https://www.thefitmess.com/guests/andre-solo-from-high/

Can you think of how this is structured? Is every guest added as a separate page under the guests list? Then the episodes/show notes are posts?

Love this idea and it could be cool to see it as a theme template!

Hi there,

Looks like it's a custom-coded/non-WordPress site.

I think you can achieve something similar by building the /guests page manually with GenerateBlocks and the block editor.

Then the link will take you to the author archive generated by WordPress automaically.

Hope this helps to get you started.

Thanks for the help. That's good guidance.

Is it possible to dynamically update fields in the /guests tiles using ACF or something built-in to WordPress? For example, to count the # of episodes under each guest. Or their title from a field in their /guests/[name] page?

It's definitely possible but that's not something built-in in the theme.

You would need a custom solution for that to count the episodes published.

Thanks, Leo.

No problem :)
