[plugin request] better related posts - next/prev

HI Tom,
I know there are some plugin options for the first half but is it possible to achieve it without outside help?
The current prev/next is really...slim :) Something like this {some posts pulled in from the same category}
OR similar to prev/next, something a bit more media oriented like (prev/next thumbnails ON/OFF) :)

Not sure something like this should be built into GP - a plugin would definitely be the way to go.
You're not interested in any of the already available related posts plugins out there?
If there would be a "plugin" for GP to pull the current category in and we could simply use a WPSP shortcode for posts only that would be one solution :)
The issue with the other plugins is that in 2016 there were numerous security hacks thru them and I would feel safer with something that is part of the system then an outside source.
The screenshot is super simple to do with WPSP just need to pull the right posts in (not to mention if we use hooks can it be only for the post pages?)

Yea, I think this is something WPSP could handle.
I have it in the notebook of things to look into for WPSP :)
Great can't wait :) I think this would solve this issue for a lot of your users and would give a good extra to use this combo
Hi Tom, do we already have a solution to show most commented/ popular posts from the current category/ tag/ term in a widget? WPSP or something else?
