Picture alignment problems

Hi,
I've used one of the library themes but am having a few problems with pictures on the front page.
It's really slow loading them. I've got the Smush pluggin. Could it be that the pictures are just too big, or is it a different issue?

I ran a lighthouse test for your site, seems the page hero image is not the problem, but the other images.

Upload properly sized image, and before that, you could use something like this to compress the images:
