Photo link issues when switching a staging area site w/new GP into a live site?

Am nearing the point of getting Bluehost to make my new staging site with GenP live, and am obsessing over what could go wrong, like photo links getting lost, or my favorite, the problem I didn't know to prepare for or prevent, and don't remember how I did it before, etc. I know my media library is a wreck with unused versions outnumbering the ones I end up putting on the site 4-1. TONS of photos. Can you recommend a media library cleaner that's reliable for not erasing the ones actually in the blog? Cuz my labels won't help. And can you recommend the best way to back up a blog site? Could Bluehost do that?
Do all the internal links that now have "/staging/" in the url automatically change?
Any other advice as to what things are standard when preparing for this kind of transfer?
If this doesn't fall in your purview, let me know. I just want to make sure I use plugins that the little Generatepress leprechauns in my machine will be happy working with.
Thanks, everybody.

Hi there,

Can you recommend a media library cleaner that’s reliable for not erasing the ones actually in the blog? Cuz my labels won’t help.

Try the recommendations on this article.

I'm not exactly sure if Bluehost has its own tool for migration. But I know some hosting does. (Pantheon has one). You should ask their support for any recommendations specific to their hosting.

As for specific plugins: From experience, I find this plugin very useful for migration.

It really depends on how you've migrated. Some migration tools notify the users about this prior to migrating so there'd be no pathing issues.

But some migration tools surely don't. In these cases, I'd recommend using this plugin to correct the pathing.

Thanks, Elvin. I'll let you know.

No problem. :)
