I would like my top bar to look like

    | [phone icon] +1-111-222-3333 [linkedIn Icon] |

I had the phone number on the left, without the icon, but when I added a second lightweight icon, even though the controls had the phone number text widget aligned to the left, it would align to the right.

My understanding is that I should have three widgets:
    Phone Icon – aligned left
text (of phone number) – aligned left
    LinkedIn icon – aligned right

Is it possible to get the alignment I want?

    Hi there,

Are you using the secondary menu already?

If you can link me to the site I might be able to provide an alternative method.

    Let me know.

    Hi Leo,

I do not believe I am using “secondary menu”. I am using GP 1.4.3, pretty close to stock.

What do you mean by “link me to the site”? The URL is softwarecopywriting.com, hosted on bluehost.

    What do I do next?

In your first Custom HTML widget, add this:

    <i class="fa fa-phone"></i> 123-456-7890

Then in the second widget, try adding this:

    <a href="URL TO LINKEDIN"><i class="fa fa-linkedin"></i></a>

    Thank you, Tom!

By the way, who is the guy with the beard next to you in the photo?

    Also,

Could something similar be done with the Lightweight Social Icons?

    hahah πŸ˜‰

Lightweight Social Icons wouldn’t allow you to add text to the icons, at least not without some custom code. If you’d like to set it up using LSI and link me to the page, I might be able to help πŸ™‚

    Tom,

Thanks for your offer, but the current solution is good enough. 80/20 and all that. GP is really good, and I hope it is doing well for you!

I am currently hunting for a good overview of the WP/GP layout model, so I can do better than random guessing as to what makes this part wider, or what makes this space taller.

divs, and spans, divs and spans (but mostly divs)

    Take Care,

    Jud
