Hi, can you tell me the easiest way to place a different header on one page of my website?

Cheers
Patrick

Hi there,

when you say Header - do you mean the Site Header with the Logo and Navigation?
Or is it the large page hero image/content that comes below the site header ?

Hi David, until today, I've been using the same header for all pages - so that would be the site header, with navigation and logo. Today, I deleted the logo image in the Site Identity area and uploaded to the Background Images, Header section. Is that wrong?

Most of my website is dedicated to science fiction, but I have two pages featuring historical fiction. So, the scifi themed site header doesn't suit the subject matter for these two pages. I'd like to be able to substitute a different image in the header of these two pages.
Can it be done?

Appreciate your help,
regards

Patrick

Subsequent thought: I'd like to have the same navigation throughout the site.

Cheers

Hi Patrick,

Thank you for adding the link to your site. To confirm, do you want the image as a background hero image or a site-logo?

I can’t see a background image currently in your website.

Can you try displaying it as a site logo in Appearance > Customize > Site Identity or as a Background image through Appearance > Customize > Background Images > Header?

After you apply it, we’ll try to figure out a way to display a different version of the image in the other pages you specified.

Kindly provide the links to the 2 custom pages in your website as well.

Hope to hear from you soon. :)

Hi, this is a screenshot of where I put the image for sitewide header.

Anyway, I've changed back to using the logo, so hope you can see that.

The temp login is in the private information box. From here, you should be able to access the whole site. (If not, please let me know.)

I would like 3 custom pages, if possible:

Thanks for your help,

I can see the Background image when logged in to your site.

I believe the easiest approach to this would be to create a Block Element, with Element Type - Site header or Element Type - Hook and Hook name before Header.

See: https://share.getcloudapp.com/4guKr4r9

Also see: https://share.getcloudapp.com/12ugLRLX

As shown above, this approach would require you to create two Block Elements.

One assigned to the Entire site, with excluded pages set. Another with display rule location set to the pages excluded in the other Block Element.

As mentioned, you may choose the Element Type and Hook name to your preference.

With regards to the image, you may create a Container Block with a top padding value and a Background image URL as such: https://share.getcloudapp.com/jkuvXOve

Hope this clarifies! Feel free to reach out if further assistance is needed. :)

That's looking good! Thanks Fernando!
