Parse error on line 1

Hello,
I have a staging environment where I run five different WP-sites. All five use WP 5.7.1, GP 3.0.3 and GP Premium 2.0.2. All of them use elements page header and Page Hero in the same way. The problem is that one site displays an error in the Page Hero section with a red cross and saying "Parse error on line 1: Expecting 'STRING', 'NUMBER', 'NULL' etc etc". This error message displays already at start without typing code. No matter what is written, always the same error message.
I have reinstalled the GP premium but the problem persists. Any ideas of what can be the problem?
Regards
Stefan
Hi there,
sounds like some weird characters are in there - could you provide us with temporary admin access to the site and the Title of the element so i can take a look?
Hi,
Sorry for late response, but I have been struggling with a VPN connection to have the remote access to work to my Win10 env.
But no success. There are problems with accessing the wp-site and redirections etc.
Can you guide me where to look for weird characters - in db or else where?
Thanks
Stefan
Might be worth taking a step back and check to see if there are first any conflicts. Are there other plugins installed on the site or a Child Theme installed ? If so can you test with them ALL temporarily disabled ?
Hi David,
Thanks for the tips! I have found the problem by disabling a plugin that was specific for this site. After that the problem disappeared.
Thanks
Stefan
Glad to hear that
