[Support request] pagination extra slash in the URL

Hi support,
Unnder category pages, in the pagination section, the link going back to the first page of the category contain and extra slash at the end which cause a 301 redirect.

Note: this extra slash in URL affect only the link going back to the first page of the category.

e.g.
/category/news/ <— the problem here
/category/news/page/2
/category/news/page/3
/category/news/page/4
/category/news/page/5

Any idea how to fix this?

This shouldn’t be a theme issue as the permalink structure is entirely handled by WP core:

Can you try #1 here to debug first?
