I mixed up a post URL and a page URL. I duplicated the post with AE Duplicator.
The post was https://nationalhomeimprovements.co.uk/home-alloiances/ (now deleted)
Then I changed it to: https://nationalhomeimprovements.co.uk/home-alloiances/Littlewoods (now deleted)
The post nw is: https://nationalhomeimprovements.co.uk/littlewoods/
The page before the mix-up: https://nationalhomeimprovements.co.uk/home-appliances (correct)
The page after the mix-up: https://nationalhomeimprovements.co.uk/home-appliances-littlewoods/ (incorrect)
At the front side, "littlewoods" has become attached to the URL.
Inside Wordpress it isn't. The url is as it should be:
https://nationalhomeimprovements.co.uk/home-appliances.
It appears to be grabbing or (is stuck) "littlewoods" from somewhere, perhaps the deleted duplicate post.
Any help is very much appreciated.
Hi there,
have you tried rebuilding the permalinks?
Go to Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks and hit the Save a couple of times.
Hi David,
Thank you for your reply.
I'm not sure what you mean by, "rebuilding the permalinks" is there a plugin that can do this?
Yes I have gone to Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks and hit the Save a couple of times.
I've also cleared cookies and the cache.
Is there anything else I can try?
This page:
https://nationalhomeimprovements.co.uk/home-appliances-littlewoods/ is actually reporting 404 not found ? So i am not sure what the issue is now?
I found a redirect in Yeost (eventually) that was causing a page to redirect to a post. Once I had removed all involved they went back to working as expected.
Thank you for your help David.
Glad to hear you got that resolved.
