Hello,
With the latest google update, it feels like h1s are suddenly more important. my webpages seeing h1s replacing title tags in the SERPS.
Is it possible to delete all of my h1 tags and can i make all titles as h1 automatically.
Thank you
Hi there,
By "all titles" did you mean post title in a single post page and/or page title on a static page?
If so, they're already h1 by default. (<h1 class="entry-title>)
The h1 tags from the theme are usually only from the ff:
- Site's main title (if you chose not to hide it on Appearance > Customize > Site Identity <h1 class="main-title">)
- Page or Post title (<h1 class="entry-title>)
- Page title on archive pages (<h1 class="page-title>)
The rest are h2 or smaller. (post titles on archive pages or blog index pages)
The only multiple h1s in one page that the theme would cause is if you have site's main title set to appear on Appearance > Customize > Site Identity.
The rest of the h1 tags, if they appear, will either come from a plugin or if you've added one on the content manually. For these ones, you'll have to manually change them.
Hi,
I am also having similar feedback regarding my site's H1 Title tags for SEO.
I think the theme automatically creates both the SEO Title Tag and the page title (as a <h1> tag) from the 'Add title' when first starting a new page/post.
However, for SEO I want to have a different SEO Title Tag (i.e.: <TITLE></TITLE>) from the page title that is shown to users (i.e.: H1 Page title)
The only way I can do this at the moment is to add the SEO Title Tag that I want when starting a new post and prompted to Add Title and then using the HIDE Title Content option.
I then add a Headline Block and set that as H1.
This seems to work (only one H1 on the visible page from my Headline block) however it means my Featured Image is always above the Headline Block. Is there any way of changing that?
Hi Robert,
Yes that's correct. The theme automatically creates a <title> tag and <h1> tag which takes the title of the post/page.
This seems to work (only one H1 on the visible page from my Headline block) however it means my Featured Image is always above the Headline Block. Is there any way of changing that?
Can you open a new topic for this? So you can use the private information text field to provide the site details so we can check it. :D
