Page that's not a menu item with custom hover

I found the steps from one of your previous support questions where someone wanted just a simple bottom border when hovering or currently on a menu item. I have integrated that in to my site and it works great.

Only problem though is when a page that is not a menu item is displayed, the nav menu bumps down when I hover over because it doesn't have a bottom border on one of the menu items since a menu item isn't being displayed. Does that make sense?
