Page Template to get posts from certain category ID

Hi again Tom!
We want to build a custom template to display the 3 most recent posts in a certain category.
We also want the posts to appear in excerpts for like 50 words, and display the featured image above it.
Something like what's happening on the front page of this page: http://veracamilla.nl.
Is there any way you can help us out?

If you can't use the built in category template, your best bet may be to use a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/display-posts-shortcode/
