Page Structure Misconfigured
11 replies · Started by Adam on November 24, 2020
Hello,
Just yesterday I added in some new content to my "resources" page.
It consisted of 1 text box, and 5 - 50/50 columns (HTML & text).
For some reason, today my page is altered completely. The structure loses its format on the resources page, and all the photos are blown way out of proportion (all compared to other pages on my site).

Hi there,
Have you figured this out?
The topic is marked as resolved.
Let me know :)
Leo,
Thanks for the response. I marked it as resolved because after clearing my cache for a third time, it seemed okay.
Now it seems that after a while, it has gone back to malfunction. The same as before.
Only this time, there also seems to be an issue with the drop-down arrows in my top menu not displaying, and only displaying a 'square'
Hi there,
looks like an issue with your SSL setup on your site.
Can you make sure the Dashboard > Settings > General URLs are set to HTTPS. And then you may need to use a plugin like Velvet Blue Update URLs to make sure all your HTTP links are set to HTTPS:
https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/velvet-blues-update-urls/
When looking at my settings, all I see is "wordpress address URL" and "site address URL"
Dashborad>settings
Nothing for "general URLs" is listed
Do both of those URLs begin with: https://
Yes, they do
Which section should I be looking at?
I just checked the page and everything seems quite normal:

I can see the dropdown arrow as well:
https://www.screencast.com/t/Ygkwka6OgWda
It seems that when I clear my cache, it goes back to normal for a while. Hopefully it stuck this last time.
That is the correct section. The navi bar on top (where the drop-down arrows are sometimes squares), doesn't display properly when the cache needs clearing. everything appear stacked instead of as a horizontal bar.
That just sounds like some sort of caching issue for sure.
So how do I go about fixing this? I use swift performance lite, but each time I cache the site it seems to return back to being messed up after a while.
Hi,
So how do I go about fixing this? I use swift performance lite, but each time I cache the site it seems to return back to being messed up after a while.
If purging/clearing cache doesn't work, consider trying other optimization & caching plugins like Autoptimize:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/configuring-autoptimize/
Or other ones like WP Rocket, Litespeed cache, w3 total cache.
You can check out articles on the web about this. Example: https://wpastra.com/best-wordpress-caching-plugins/
