Page options not working

using: Forefront
When editing a page, the layout options and footer widget options do not hold at all.. no matter what I set them to, they revert back to
Global Layout Settings
in both the sidebar and footer sections
Yea I did some more searching and this was the resolution here:

If this happens, it's most likely because your page used to have a page template that no longer exists.
To fix this, go to "Pages" where it lists all of your pages.
Find the page that doesn't save options, and click "Quick Edit".
Under "Template", choose "Default Template" and save.
That should fix it.

right.. that was the problem.. I recreated the page and bingo it worked
