Page offers to translate ?

Hi everyone,

I've helped a friend setup a site to sell some home units.
And has an annoying issue that is a bit weird - On just the contact page, Chrome and Edge offer to translate the page to English, as if it is detecting the page is French.
There is hardly any text on the page, as it's just the contact page.
There is some content that I can see in the source code but not the actual page - which is:
<div class="header-wrap"><a class="screen-reader-text skip-link" href="#content" title="Skip to content">Skip to content</a>
Not sure where this Skip to Content is coming from, and not sure if it is related?
Any thoughts ?
Thanks, Dave

Hi there,

Have you sorted this out? I've checked the site and I don't get the translation notification from either Chrome, Edge or Firefox.

Let us know.

Hi Elvin,
Thanks for getting back...
It is intermittent, sorry forgot to mention that!

I just tried it again then and it came up - I'll post an image in a little while, cant do it just now!

Dave

Hi Elvin,

It seems like your page is being offered translation because of some words in the site.

You'll notice that when you click english when the site offers to translate, the word "centre" changes to "Center".

Can you try temporarily removing the word or changing it to see if its the case?

OK good catch - well done, I'll try that!
Thanks Dave

No problem. Let us know how it goes.

I found a couple of other things changed - the & in the real estate title changed, and the dot in the footer changed.
Really odd, nothing on the page could be remotely detected as French!
Seems to be OK now!

Dave

Yes characters can cause this as well.

Let us know if something comes up or if it's finally resolved. :D

Thanks, All good for now!

Nice one. Thanks for letting us know. :D
