Page heroes and blog rolls

I'm just starting out with WP and GeneratePress. I've been on Squarespace and am trying to re-create my site and am at a complete loss on where to start.

Two main features I want to recreate are:
>> full page heroes on all my pages (not blog posts)
>> and blog rolls that pull from tags or categories

For an example of both on my live site that still points to squarespace: https://www.solsalute.com/travel-buenos-aires

Help?? Any tips on how or where to find the how-to in documentation/videos??

Thank you so much! Huge help.
I'll definitely slow down and conquer one at a time, starting with page heros.
I followed the steps for the examples and Example 2 is exactly what I want, but is there a way to make it fill the page vertically?

You'll have to write a bit of CSS. If you could link us to the specific page in question, we could inspect it and help you out with the CSS write-up. :)

The page you've linked requires a username and password to view.

You can use the private info field to provide them.

Thanks!! Attached.

Hi there,

I've tried viewing the site w/ the credentials provided but it doesn't seem to be working.

Can you recheck and confirm if the credentials are correct?

Let us know.

They're correct, maybe because it's in staging, edited that staging link

Lets fix the Header Element first.
If you edit the Header Element, and go to the Site Header tab and set it to Merge with Content.
Then go back to the Page Hero tab - you will see the Full Screen option you can tick.

Amazing thank you! Wildly easy and I'm slightly embarrassed I did not see that myself.

Now for spacing..I'm rebuilding my site from Squarespace hence the minute (but important to me) tweaks...

Can you help me with CSS for (1) adding margin before and after the images in my posts and (2) adding a bit more space between lines on bulleted and numbered lists?

Hi Erin,

I'm unable to login to your site with the credential you provided, could you double-check?
Thanks!

The site is in staging, try this log in added below (I had said this above and it worked for them).

Ying and I both tested the login info but it didn't work for us.

Perhaps we need a separate set of username and password to get past the first part here?

I only have the pw and username provided here, I just logged out and back in to make sure and it worked for me...
