Page hero images webp, WP Rocket and Shortpixel

we're working on some speed improvements and the final hurdle is our hero images. Despite generating webp images using shortpixel and serving via WP Rocket cache our hero image is not serving as webp, but rather as jpg. Any ideas how we should configure this? heres a sample post

Hi there,
Header Elements use CSS backgrounds to load the images.
Shortpixel has this doc on optimizing CSS loaded images:

Not sure if that will work - you may need to check with their support if not.
