Page Header - change width
13 replies · Started by Steve on October 6, 2021
Hi,
I guess you guys moved the Page Header to Page Elements. Not sure why you guys tried to fix something that wasn't broken. Page Header was simple to use and effective.
Now I'm having issues simply trying to change the header width. I've set the Element to all pages and Container to "Contained", but it's still showing full width.
Please advise,
Steve
Hi Steve,
Not sure if I fully understand.
The header is already contained from what I can see:

Have you already figured it out?
Let me know :)
Hi Leo,
I'm referring to the black box part.
Thanks,
Steve
Hi Steve,
If you go to the page editor and select this Container block, you should be able to see the Layoutoptions on the right side:
https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/container-overview/#layout-%E2%80%93-standalone-block
Set its container width and inner containerwidth both tocontained width.
Let me know if you need further assistance :)
Hi Ying,
That worked! How do you adjust the height?
Thanks,
Steve
If you select the container, you would see the Spacing options on the right side as well.
You just need to adjust the top and bottom padding. :)
https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/container-overview/#spacing
Where do I find that? I only see this.

I can't see the link, but take a look at this screenshot:

Ahhh ok. I wasn't seeing it because I was using Classic Editor.
Thanks,
Steve
No problem :)
Hi Ying,
I don't know what happened, but the black header shows up twice on the homepage.
Also, why no padding on the About page?
Please advise,
Steve
Can you go to Appearance > Element > Global header, did you remove the Front page from the exclusion list?
https://www.screencast.com/t/tLukCUXo0LI
If so, can you add it back?
For the about page, go to Customizer > Layout >Container, check if the content padding to 0? If so, you can adjust the padding there:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/container-layout-overview/
If not, can you go to the page editor, check if the content container is set to contained?
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/content-container/
Let me know :)
Fixed. For the About page, when I set the Content Container to Default, it fixed the padding issue. 🤷♂️
Thanks,
Steve
No problem :)
