Page Doesn't Show Preview
3 replies · Started by Ella on September 30, 2021
I'm not sure if this is a Wordpress thing or a GeneratePress thing, but I'm working on a page quite heavily and have to keep previewing the changes. It was fine before but every time I try to preview now - it won't open in a new tab (despite selecting this) and it just takes ages to load so I have to keep clicking out and then finding the page again to press preview then edit - very long-winded approach. I tried clearing the cache + logging out then logging back in, but no joy. Any ideas on why this is suddenly happening and what I can do?
Thanks,
Ella
Hi there,
what happens if you try using a private/incognito browser ?
Thanks for getting back to me. I've just published it instead and this seems to have fixed it.
May I ask another question though please? This is the page: https://www.forgettingfairytales.com/breakup-coaching/
Upon publishing I've noticed that desktop looks great, but mobile looks very ugly. There's overlaps etc. How do I add spaces between elements on mobile version only? (EG: "Take the first step, find out more with a free call" button shouldn't sit on the image) and below that "What is Breakup Coaching?" - there needs to be another space there, etc.
Also, how do I disable the Categories bar so that it doesn’t show on the pages? I’ve pressed “Disable Elements” and tried “Top Bar” “Primary Navigation” “Secondary Navigation” and previewed all but none of these remove it.
Thanks for your help,
Ella
Hi Ella,
It's using Grid Block of GenerateBlocks to create the grid columns.
You can add some vertical gap to the Grid block on mobile by clicking on the Mobile tab:
https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/grid-overview/#editing-the-grid-block
“What is Breakup Coaching?” – there needs to be another space there, etc.
And you can add different paddings/margins to every single GB Headline block & Container block, just click on the desktop/tablet/mobiletabs then you'll be able to change the values:
https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/headline-overview/#spacing
how do I disable the Categories bar so that it doesn’t show on the pages?
That's secondary navigation, can you try again and leave the setting there even if it doesn't work? So we can see the issue.
For other questions, can you open a new topic? Thanks!
