Page (content) title background color won't change

I'm using Merch theme, and want to change the page title background color, but it doesn't seem to change in the Customiser view or real view. It looks like it has changed in the block editor, but not when I view the page itself.
Is there another setting affecting this?

Also, I can't disable the title on the page
I've managed the title disable, but still having background color issues.

Aah ok, go to Appearance > Elements and look for the Header Element that you have set to display on Pages.
Edit that and change the Background color to Transparent, then you will see the body background color.
