Padding Settings in the customizer don't work
7 replies · Started by sporenborg on March 7, 2021
The setting: Wordpress, GB, GP, Elementor Pro ... all in the latest version.
Some pages are created with Elementor Pro, some with GenerateBlocks. I customized the basic setting using the customizer, the rest using CSS. After noticing that the "body" padding is different on the pages, I went troubleshooting and found - after emptying the customizer css - that the pudding of the customizer is not working anymore. Do you guys have any idea what I could have done wrong? Thanks a lot for your help!
Hi there,
Is there a specific page I should be looking at?
The home page <body> looks normal.
GP doesn't add any padding to the body tag.
Hi Leo,
thank you for your answer. Try to set a value for the global padding in the customizer. This currently has no effect on the page.
And please delete the screenshot again.
Thanks a lot!
Hi there,
Not sure fully understand your question here, are you trying to add padding for the red area or the green area?

And what's the customizer option you tried?
Hi there,
the easiest thing would be to enter your own / new padding value in the customizer (layout > container) and then see if this value has an effect or not. Actual the values 0 55 0 13 are set – without any impact.
thx
Hi there,
if you use either the Contained or Full Width Content Container see here:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/content-container/
This removes the themes padding, those options are designed to allow you to add padding in the editor whether that be Elementor or using GenerateBlocks in the editor.
Hi David, thank you for your hint, which brought me to the goal. i have now solved it via css. you never stop learning.
Glad to be of help
