[Support request] padding or full width do not show when viewing or published

I have read I don’t know how many articles and I have tried full width elements, full width containers/inner containers etc, adjusting spacing/padding of containers separately and while editing, it is full width etc, but when you view the page, the text still spans only a fraction of the width of the page. I think it has to do with the “Slideout” site I used from the site library, which is quite ‘portrait’ oriented. Is it possible to have the text span a wider pane/panel for some pages? If this is not possible, can I remove ‘Slideout’: what will happen with the appearance of the site? I hope you can help!!!
