[Support request] Override Global Styles

I have a Global Style for a container which has a background color set.
I also have a Local Pattern which using this Global Style.

When I add my template (Local pattern) into my page I want to change background color but my “local” (on page) change will not work.

I thought it was possible to override Global Styles.
I’m I wrong?
