I have made the menu to have opacity of 0.7 but would like the sub-menu to have full opacity of 1.0. Can you tell me please how I code this.

I’m afraid that’s not possible using the opacity attribute. You would have to attach it to the .main-navigation element, and the opacity attribute applies to everything inside the element.
Instead, use a transparent background image (2x2px) as the navigation background.
