Opacity for Color addon

I'm afraid not - in order for that to happen we would have to use RGBA, and if I changed that people would lose their color selections, which would suck.

You can always use RBGA in your custom CSS, or use transparent pixels as background images.

Tom, why are you at the outset did not use RGBA?
I tried to use a transparent PNG file, this does not work. Custom CSS - yes, it fits.

Because the standard WP colors customizer option doesn't support them.

Now that we started with hex (as most people are used to), there's no turning back without people losing their saved options.
