On my ''page'', when I add a featured image, it pops up on top of page

How do I add a featured image to my page without having it show up on the page? I want to add it just for social share.

several ways:
1. For an individual Post or Page
you can use the Disable Element meta box in the psot editor:

2. For specific display Rules
you can use the Layout Element to disable the featured image and set your own display rules

3. Disable Featured Images for ALL Archives or Posts or Pages
you can use the Customizer > Layout > Blog -> Featured Images
And uncheck the Display featured image
