"Off Canvas Panel" widget missing

have you enabled the Off Canvas Panel?

Hi, Yes the off canvas panel si all working, just the widget that is not appearing
Looking at the logs I was getting the following error

404 GET /wp-json/wp/v2/types/widget-areas?context=edit&_locale=user

Further digging led me to the Gutenberg plugin.

When I disable the gutenberg plugin the widget area appears, when I activate it again the widget is removed.

Seemed to happen on v8.9.3 and 8.9.2

Any ideas?

OK I'm going to have to disable gutenberg plugin and stick with baked in gutenberg as it just seems too buggy (the gutenberg plugin) https://wordpress.org/plugins/gutenberg/

Everything seems to be working now that the plugin is disabled.

Yes - the Gutenberg plugin really isn't necessary now - in the past we would recommend it when the core editor was really buggy.... now that plugin should only be used to see what new features are coming.

We'll take a look at what the plugin is doing to make sure Core doesn't get a site breaking update.
