[Support request] Notification Bar

Hi,
I’ve followed this excellent tutorial here: https://www.gmitropapas.com/generatepress-theme-tutorial-convert-the-top-widget-bar-into-a-notification-window/ on creating a notification bar with a Hook.

I have it working well, except when you close the bar it’s leaving a white bar under the footer the same height as the bar itself. Also sometimes when you refresh the page or load it for the first time on initial page load the browser scrolls slightly down passed the bar to the menu.

Any help much appreciated.

Have you tried contacting the author to see if he is able to help?

He is quite active as far as I understand and you can see that in the comment section as well.

I did try and reach out but not heard anything back yet. I noticed his guide has been mentioned before on these forums so thought someone may be able to help.

I’ve tested the solution once and didn’t notice any problems so something might have changed?

Don’t see your comment in the comments section in that post either.
