Nothing will "center align"

Hello,
I'm a long-time (i.e. 2 years) GP and GB premium user. Recently, on my https://gohydrology.org water cycle webpage, nothing appears to "center align." On my computer it looks great, but when I look at it on a second computer or on my phone: (1) the "welcome water drop" on the top of the homepage and my signature ("Bob") align left even though I have them middle aligned. (2) I also noticed that anywhere I used WP-Show-Posts, any PP that I "center align" similarly appear "left aligned."
My versions of Generate Press and Generate Blocks (both premium) are up-to-date with the latest versions.
Can you think of any reason this is happening?
Thanks, Bob
P.S. BTW: On my other website https://bobbyangel.org this problem is not occurring. Everything I specify "center align" stays center aligned.
Hi Bob,
I see that you have SG optimizer's caching enabled on the site w/ the issue. Can you try temporarily disabling it and see if anything changes?
Let us know.
Hey Elvin,
Thanks for your response. I went into SG Optimizer on https://gohydrology.org and disabled the cache. I also cleared the cache. However, the same problem persists: The centered images and text are still all "aligning left." Strangely, everything "centers" fine in the browser and machine that I'm working on. It's only other browsers or on another computer (or my phone) that everything is "aligned left."
BTW: I maintain another site https://bobbyangel.org that uses all the same plugins, themes, SG optimizing and caching as my Go Hydrology site and everything "center aligns" on it perfectly. It's weird how one site works great but the other is all aligned left.
Do you have any other suggestions?
Thank again, Bob
Can you keep the caching disabled so we can have a clearer idea on what's happening to it when we inspect?
The 2 sites have different CSS for the class .aligncenter so it is related to WordPress core styling.
I'm quite unsure yet because the sources of the styling is masked by the cache but it seems like these 2 sites have different WordPress versions. The bobbyangel site uses 5.9's display:table for the aligncenter while the gohydrology site doesn't seem to have this. Perhaps it's using an older version (5.8.3 or older.)
Okay, will disable now. Thanks for the heads up.
Okay, will disable now. Thanks for the heads up.
Let us know so we can re-check the site again.
While waiting, can you verify if the 2 sites have the same WordPress version? gohydrology seems to be using an older version.
Hi Elvin,
I deactivated the SG Caching last night, so we should be good to go on your testing. As for the versions, Go Hydrology (https://gohydrology.org) and Bobby Angel (https://bobbyangel.org) are both using Wordpress 5.9. And again, everything "center alins" on the browser and machine I'm working on it), it's just on other computers and my phone that all the "center aligning" goes away. I'm trying to think, what I changed recently, and I can't think of anything other than the "water drop intro" that I put at the top of the home page. But even when I removed the problem still persisted.
Thanks again for your help - hopefully we can resolve it,
Bob
Hi there,
on the https://gohydrology.org/ i can still see the SG Optimizer styles and I am not seeing any of the core block styles being loaded.
In your plugins can you disable the SG Optimizer plugin?
Thank you David,
I just deactivated the entire "SG Optimizer Plugin." Even more good news: It seems to have done the trick. Everything that should be is now "center aligned."
In your opinion, what specifically was causing the problem, i.e. as it a particular element of the optimizer? Side Note: I've used the SG Optimizer on other websites (https://bobbyangel.org) and the "center align" works fine.
Thanks again, that correct is.
But I'd also hate to lose the functionality of the SG Optimizer if I can avoid it.
Do you recommend any next steps?
Hydro Bob
Now try re-enabling SG Optimizer.
Sometimes it just needs a bit of a kick - especially after there has been any significant updates to WP, the Theme or a plugin.
Hi David,
Thanks for the idea: I "reactivated" SG Optimizer, and the same "center align" problem reappeared. It seems like we're on the right track, but still something is causing it to not work correctly, and causing the "center align" to persist.
Do you have any other additional recommendations or suggestions?
Thanks again for all your help!
Hydro Bob
In the SG Optimizer Settings, there is probably a bunch of settings related to CSS.
If you can disable them ALL and retest the site - if the center align works, then re-enable each setting one at a time and test to see which one is the problem.
Thanks David,
I'll try that to see if it works, and be back in touch with my findings.
Thanks again and I'll be in touch,
Hydro Bob
You're welcome
David,
Just to follow up: Thank you for your help.
I reactivated SG Optimizer and deactivated the "Combine CSS" setting. That setting seemed to be what was triggering the "center align" problem.
Thanks again for all your help!
