[Support request] Not receiving premium updates – Valid Key is not saving

Hi, recently bought the pro. Everything is installed, theme and plugin except it will not save the key. It just keeps loading. It did work right away on another site though.

Do you have any ideas about what could be causing this? It is a new site with very limited only 4 plugins.

Hi there,

if you right click and inspect the page to open the developers tools and then try saving the key again. Do you see any errors in the developers tools Console tab ?

there are some errors.

this site is custom PHP on the front page. Only the blog is in WordPress and loaded with GP. I should have likely mentioned this previously.

Can you try regenerating the Permalinks – go to Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes.
Disable any caches or CDNs and then retry activating the key.

Is there a custom permalink structure or any other functions that would affect the permalinks ?

No, i have also tried changing the permalink as its a new site it doesn’t matter but still no luck.

das hat nun bei mir geklappt. 🙂
Ich habe die Permalink-Struktur auf “Numerisch” gestellt und gespeichert, danach wieder zurück auf “Beitragsname” und gespeichert.
Nun ging sofort die Aktivierung des Keys für Generatepress!

Chris, what other changes have been made to the site ? You said there was a PHP homepage, are there any redirects or rewrites ?

No redirects. I am using Amazon Lightsail. The front page is HTML and only the blog part is WordPress which Im using generate press for

Hi there,

The fact that the REST API endpoint is coming back with a 404 means something is up with the mod_rewrite package on the server. Sometimes this can mean misconfigured permalinks or redirects, but it can also be something on the server itself.

Do “pretty permalinks” work on your site?
