Non-breaking hyphens

I'm trying to keep the phrase "Attorney-at-Law" from breaking in the site title, but the HTML for non-breaking hyphens ‑ doesn't work in Wordpress' customizer. Questions:
Is there a plugin etc. that will allow ‑ in the site title?
or,
Is there a way to make "Attorney-at-Law" show as "Atty-at-Law" on mobile?

Would it work if you use the default header instead of the navigation as header option and add the Attorney-at-Law as the site description/tagline?
