George
I looked but could not find an answer.
I am currently trying to set up my first brand new website, Altoplace.
Under the Static Front Page customizing option, I created a “Front page” called Home and a “Posts page” called Blog. In my Blog page edit, I added an introductory text, “This is my primary blog page.”
However, when I view my Blog page, all I see is the one post that I have created. The text that I added to my Blog page does not appear. Is there a way to add static text/images to the top of a blog page? May be this doesn’t make sense for a blog page? I am still learning how to use WordPress …

Hi
I think the blog page header is the perfect tool for that. While viewing your blog page, open the customizer and navigate to “Blog” and then “page header”

Hello Jamal,
I have the same issue. However when I go to the customizer what I see inside “Blog” are “Blog content”, “Columns”, “Masonry” and “Post Image”. I can’t find “page header” for the blog. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you very much for your help!

Hi Marga,
You should see Page header options if the page header addon is activated and if you are viewing the blog page (your posts page set in “Settings > Reading”. Please do confirm if you can’t see the page header options still.

Hi Jamal,
All addons are activated and I’m viewing the blog page which is selected in “Settings>Reading” as you say (I can see the posts in this page, so it is well selected). I’m using Max Mega Menu Plugin, it can be some kind of conflict?
Any idea?
Thank you!November 28, 2016 at 9:37 am #248803George
It works for me. This is how I did it:
1. While viewing your site, click on your “Blog” page.
2. Click on customize.
3. Click on Blog.
4. Click on Page Header Content
You should now be able to add content to your blog page header.

It worked! Thank you George 🙂 From the backoffice I couldn’t see that option, but going to customize directly from the page I can see it!
And how can I apply more settings such as “full-width” or “parallax effect”? I tried from the backoffice but It doesn`t work

Marga, sorry, I cannot help you with your additional questions. I am new to WordPress and GeneratePress, and I haven’t tried those settings, yet.

Thank you for the information, I checked it before I tried to set the blog header, very helpful! The problem is that all the settings I try to apply in the header blog page don’t work. I mean, I activate things like “full-width” or “parallax effect” in the background blog page and they don’t change. What can I do?
Thank you for your help!

I think both “full screen” and “parallax effect” both need for an image to be uploaded under “Page Header Image”. If you want the parallax effect you will then have to enable image background under “Page header content”.
If the page header is still not full screen, try setting container type under “Page Header Content” to fluid

Well, I did it!! Thank you Jamal!! So then, it’s not possible to change the settings in the blog page from the wordpress admin, it must be done everything from “customize”.
Thank you again for your help!
