[Resolved] No option to add sections

Hello,

I am testing out Generatepress Premium in a staging environment, as I would like to move from Divi theme.

When editing a page, it simply looks like the page with the message ‘start writing or type/to choose a block’ This means I can only add a limited number of blocks by clicking the ‘+’ button. When clicking on ‘+’ to add a block, I can choose between two tabs: ‘blocks’ and ‘patterns’. Both give me limited styling options.

I cannot add a fullwidth section with a different background colour on my page, for example.

In the Generatepress premium plugin, I have all modules activated (ie. sections, backgrounds, colours etc). I have the visual editor activated (my site does not have the ‘classic editor’ plugin).

Would this be an error carried over from Divi or am I missing something

Hi there,

Sections cannot be used with the Gutenberg editor – it was built way before the Gutenberg editor existed.

I would recommend using GenerateBlocks instead:

Thanks for your advice.

I have installed the Generateblocks plugin and so far so good. I am now able to add fullwidth sections easily with the container block.
