    Hi,

I am using a header I made with the old header module that I like but I am having difficulty positioning the site tagline, so I am thinking I can get better control over the header using Elements, which is where your development is going anyway. .

I use Elementor and am using Elementor canvas to block the header on the landing page. I have not deleted the old header module.

My problem is that a legacy header is not showing up in Elements. Maybe I’m missing something obvious?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hi there,

was the Page Header one that you built within the Post Editor? If so try the solution Tom provides here:

    HI David,

I made the header through customizer, but I did use the WordPress Editor to set up the pages initially if that is what you mean by post editor.

My problem is that when I am in Elements and I click on the Legacy Page Header button, no legacy header shows up. Does Tom’s solution apply to my situation?

Little confused. So is this page header showing up on the live site?

Your website is locked so I can’t see it.

    Hi Leo,

Sorry, it is now unblocked for you.

Yes, my page header is showing up on a live site. Just click past the landing page.

Is there a specific page I should be looking at?

There isn’t a page header on the welcome page:

Click on the logo to get past the landing page. The page header is suppressed on the landing page by Elementor canvas.

All of the pther pages on the website have the header.

I did past the landing page and this is what I see:
    https://www.screencast.com/t/bXRJWYJdqk

    No page header there.

At the very top is the navigation menu. Below that is the header. The darker blue band with the White River Essences logo, the tagline and the search box is my header. I made it with the WordPress editor and the GP Header Module in the Customizer.

When I make changes in the GP Header Module in the Customizer, those changes are reflected in the header I described above. That is a legacy header, right?

That is the global site header. It’s not the same as page header which is why you aren’t seeing it Legacy Page Header option.

You should be able to modify everything in the global site header in the customizer.

See more info on page header/header elements here:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-element-overview/
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/page-hero-examples/

Let me know if this makes sense ๐Ÿ™‚

My concern is that the header editor in the customizer does not have the control I need.

Does the Site Header in the elements menu give me a different way to edit what you are calling my “global site header” ?

    Hmm not really.

The Site Header tab in Elements should only be needed when you are using a page hero (former page header). Or if you trying to merge the global header with the content which doesn’t seem to be the case for you.

I am looking into merging the global header and navigation as a transparent header with the content on the landing page (the green river picture). Am I correct that I could do that with the Site Header tab in Elements and restrict it to the landing page?

Yup that will be the way to go.

    See more info here: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/transparent-header-and-navigation/

    Good. .

In addition to the transparent header over the picture for the landing page, could I also make the same transparent header over a different picture content in a hero image for all of the other webpages? I guess I would have to do that in a second hero / site header element?
