I just installed GP Premium. I am switching from another theme. I have loads of plugins and I was hoping to disable as many as possible. I was wondering if there are any plugins that you recommend to use with GP Premium? I want a super fast site. I was going to keep Yoast Premium, Really Simple SSL, Jetpack and Accelerated Mobile Pages. Do you think I should disable any of these as well and are there any that you think I should add e.g. a cache one or Smush or other image compression plugin? ThanksOctober 22, 2019 at 6:55 am #1041225DavidStaffCustomer Support
of those plugins the only one i would question is Jetpack. Its very bloated.
If you intend to use every single feature of Jetpack then its probably worth keeping.
If not then you’re better off adding specific plugins for each function. Let us know and we can advise on any specific ones.
For optimzing the site we provide these tips and recommend autoptimize:
Image compression – things such as Smush are great if you’re not in control of the images being uploaded, eg. clients uploading what they like….. otherwise i would recommend that you size and compress images before uploading. Best thing for images is to work out the largest size that you need them displayed, and upload that size.October 22, 2019 at 3:40 pm #1041787Melanie
I have another issue I need help with that I just cannot figure out.
My menu is made up of categories. When you click on the photography category the posts are displaying the way I would like them: image, date, title, except. However, when you click on the other categories e.g. Opinion the first three posts are showing as full posts and the last two are showing the excerpts. How do I get all the pages to show experts and not the full posts? Thank you.October 22, 2019 at 5:21 pm #1041819
