New installation failed

I have the latest version of Wordpress, but the installation failed. The error message was:
The package could not be installed. The theme is missing stylesheet style.css.
How do I fix this?

I thought I was purchasing a theme, not a plug-in. How does that work?
Hi there, theme and plugin works hand to hand together. The plugin gives the theme more options to customize.
Thank you Leo, I figured it out. Interesting install: install the plugin and the theme becomes visible in Appearance > Themes where you can search for it and install it. Frankly, I quickly forgot all about the issue as I discovered how to activate ALL of the backend customization options via Appearance > GeneratePress. I quickly got lost in the wonderfulness - it's very, very much a replacement for Woothemes Canvas, only a lot better because it uses the Customizer (and does it very well), and the options are tightly organized and closely and sensibly arranged. Bravo!
