New Blog Post Template Design Element is not working

Hi there,
I'm trying to work on some new styling for my single blog posts. I made a new blog post template, but it's still generating the standard blog post look that seems connected to the built-in Customizer. Any idea what the problem is?

Are you using a block element - content template and assigned it to post > all posts in the display rule?

Yes, it's a block element - content template and set to all posts for display.

A Content Template is usually only used for Archive Pages. In building a Single Post "template", we usually recommend using Block Element - Hooks, Page Heros, etc.
A Content Template should still work though if you use it on a Single Post.
Can you provide admin login credentials so we can take a closer look at why it isn't working?

Can you try temporarily removing the single.php and content-single.php files you have?
I'm not sure how to remove those files
Oh, did you have a developer before? That file was manually added by someone. If you want, you can revert to the Parent Theme so that you get all the default template files. Right now, you're using a Child theme, and you have custom code there affecting how the theme should work.
It's best to back up your site before making any major changes.
Yes, I had a developer helping me at one point. How do I revert to the parent theme?
Go to appearance > themes, Activate GeneratePress theme.
