Trish
Hi,
I tried Fernado’s idea shared here: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/decrease-white-space-under-line-of-text-in-block-editor/#post-2371789 …the CSS he highly recommended me to use, but that does not work in this form either, and I do not understand why.
Anyway, here’s the image of the form, with arrows pointing to all of the white spaces that I would like to remove: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/37003873?key=5e297b6fb0c3a937ed15c7f65866d697
The HR I would also like to have as a fine line, rather then the line that’s there now. It appears to be far to thick of a line.
Thank you in advance,

StaffCustomer SupportHi Trish,
Have you considered using GenerateBlocks to build the linked page?
Then you can use the spacing options to control everything without any CSS.
Let me know 🙂

No thank you Leo… we’ve had this conversation previously.

So… does this mean no one will help me here?

StaffCustomer SupportHi Trish,
We can be a bit slow in responding to topics on weekends:
https://generatepress.com/what-support-includes/The structure of the page makes it quite complicated to use CSS to remove the space.
Is there a reason why you are using columns blocks on that page?
If you are just trying to have a narrower content then I have a better solution for it – the columns would need to be removed first.Let me know 🙂

Okay… I’m open to your suggestion for removing the columns Leo… so fire away, please!

StaffCustomer SupportOk can you make sure this is done first?

Basically drag all the content out of the columns blocks as they aren’t needed.

Ooookay, let’s say that I’ve done that… then what?
Now there’s a whole new group of issues, as seen in this screen print: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/37027986?key=fe7d1f5216b17caf407ee96cf36f9bab
This page would be sooooo much easier to create in HTML. 🙁

I can’t see why that would be the case as HTML editor requires the CSS which seems to be the struggle here.
The easiest way to tweak these settings is to use GenerateBlocks as I recommended before – it’s built for users who don’t want to touch CSS.
If you prefer to keep the current columns layout, then you can start with CSS like this:
body.page-id-10993 .wp-block-columns { margin-bottom: 0 !important; }And if you use the browser inspector tool, then you can identify where the margin is coming from in each element and overwrite them that way.

So… now one else here can help me with this issue either, then?
You suggested I comply… and I did… I even provided a screen print… yet… you did not follow through. You just repeated your first comment… telling me to add yet another plugin. 🙁

StaffCustomer SupportI saw your screenshot (without columns) and compared tp the live site (with columns) and decided that the CSS solution is bad either way so I provided some code and instructions in the previous reply to help you get started.
You just repeated your first comment… telling me to add yet another plugin. 🙁
Because that is absolutely the best solution in your case – Nothing wrong with a plugin if it’s well-coded and useful 🙂

So, you’re the ONLY one at Generate Press answering questions now Leo?
If so, with my 20 odd plugins already in use, it’s time to find a new theme.
Disappointed with support here now.

Hi Trish.
I’m not a support member, just a user of GP. But I thought I would chime in to give my thoughts. I have used many different themes and page builders since 2015 and can vouch that GP is by far the best solution I’ve ever used. It’s as close to basic HTML as you can get but visual for lazy people like me. It makes the site much leaner and blazing fast. I would reconsider your decision to find a different theme.
I will admit, GP, as is, doesn’t give you EVERYTHING you would ever want or need in a theme and those need to be handled with customization’s. I have, and am currently, in the processing of adding in these customizations and GP Support is trying to work with me even though their theme doesn’t really support these customizations. I could just as well hire someone who knows how to code it, but I want to learn and GP is willing to help in that process.
In regards to your issue, I agree with LEO in that I would actually build this page out with GP blocks because all that you want done can be done is less than 10 mins.

Thanks Justin, but I’ve purchased awesome themes in the past that support fell by the wayside. It looks like this is now happening to GP Premium. 🙁
I used to get awesome support here …and DID try the GP blocks, I even purchased it… and it’s just another pagebuilder plugin to add to the over 20 plugins I now need and use on this site.
If the coding on the GP Premium was easier to understand, I could do my own tweaking with CSS but sadly, that too has been made impossible.
Thanks for chiming in. Much appreciated.

If you want to share your page with me, I can take a look at it. Is it truly out of the question to use the blocks? IT would be much simpler
